Calgary Marathon

The Calgary Marathon is looking for community participation:

We are also trying to engage communities that we travel through and the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your community to participants and spectators. There are three opportunities in particular that are a fit from the community involvement perspective:

1.    Neighbourhood Spirit Challenge: sign up to showcase the spirit of your neighbourhood and win $2,000 (1st place) or $1,000 (2nd place), for the charity of your choice. Please see the attached information sheet.

2.    Entertainment does your community have a school with a cheer squad, dance troupe or a band? Do you know of local musicians, artists or performers that would want to create motivational signs art or showcase their talent along the route? The Scotiabank Calgary Marathon wants to engage talent in the communities that we run through. Honorariums are available for entertainers. Please emailentertainment@calgarymarathon.com if you are interested in this opportunity.

3.    VolunteerThere are a variety of volunteer positions available and we are recruiting course marshals for the route, which is an excellent way to get involved in the comfort of your own community.  Honorariums are available for larger volunteer groups and this is an excellent way for students to gain credit for school.

The Calgary Marathon is going to come through Ramsay on Sunday May 27. Full details are on the Calgary Marathon website.
